Aminata Tommy has served as a Co-Founder and Eastern Regional Coordinator for Sierra Leone Unites. She has been a volunteer for the National Youth Commission of Sierra Leone for 6 years. She has been working on Conflict Resolution, Gender Based Violence and Youth Leadership. Aminata was awarded Ambassador of Peace during the Internal Youth Summit, headed by Youth Advocacy Children’s Panel (YACAP) in August 2018. She has benefited from so many trainings from both local and international organizations which have helped her in building my confidence learning on youth related issues like child marriage, Gender based violence, drug abuse and conflict resolution. She has been able to carry out sensitization among other youth leaders in her community. Aminata is the Co-founder of Civil Society Organization called Community and Children Youths Empowerment Network – Sierra Leone (CCAYEN – SL) where she engaged in awareness raising, Advocacy, Conflict Resolution and Reproductive Health.
In 2023, she graduated from Eastern Technical University to pursue State Registered Nurse. In 2013, she graduated from Community Ophthalmic Nursing program at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS) to specializing in the study of the eye.
Aminata loves sports, especially football and volley ball.
